Famed over decades, the Czech Philharmonic returns
to the Proms with a three-part celebration of music
closely associated with it, including DvoΣák’s radiant
Eighth Symphony, Martin≤’s equally colourful and
spontaneous final symphony and a luminous musical
legend by Janá∂ek. Joining Sir John Eliot Gardiner,
who makes the third of his four Proms appearances
(see also Proms Saturday Matinees 1 & 2 and Prom 75),
Lars Vogt offers a contrasting impression of musical
nationalism in Grieg’s intensely Norwegian and everfresh
concerto – before returning to play more

The internet makes it simple for the mind's ear to travel. A click to this page on Bachtrack and you're right there: in the Dvorak Hall of the Rudolfinum in Prague, listening to the Czech Philharmonic. Hearing that orchestra play away from home, in the Royal Albert Hall, one loses something - a lot of the instrumental detail inevitably drifts off into the hall.
